Dr. Sarah Phen O.D, Founder of Koi Vision, strongly believes the human experience is highly influenced by the visual experience. Dr. Phen’s philosophical approach to modern medicine utilizes technology forward practices supported by evidence-based research while integrating her extensive experience in every sector of eye care - complemented by her personable & humanistic touch. From her time in New York City’s high-end luxury optical industry to serving the Native American reservations in Albuquerque, New Mexico to guiding life-long functional vision care for students at Perkins School for the Blind, Dr. Phen believes each of our own individual visual experiences is the gateway to our own unique life journeys.

Optometry is an ever growing profession, serving the critical role as the primary eye care provider. Primary eye care providers have the due diligence to maximize and prolong their patient’s vision, as a result enhancing one’s quality of life exponentially.
As technology advances & new scientific research is released, the scope of practice within the field of optometry expands which includes (but not limited to): diagnosing and managing complex ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, conducting and managing pre and post operative care for all types of refractive surgery etc. The Koi Vision Eye Care Experience provides full eye care and eye wear services in-house from start to finish. Once surgical or further advanced intervention is required, Dr. Phen will refer clients out in a timely manner to ophthalmological specialty care within her trusted network to co-manage complex cases appropriately.
