THE MODERN EYE EXAM: A KOI VISION EXPERIENCE

Every individual’s visual experience is completely unique and should be treated as such. Koi Vision Eye Care is passionate about delivering all-in-one eye care services that exceed the limitations imposed by our current healthcare industry. We understand the value of preventative, thoughtful and accessible care. Unfortunately, once patients start experiencing symptoms of progressive ocular disease, it may be already too late. Every new patient full-service* comprehensive exam includes a systematic & extensive in-depth assessment from the front of the eye to the back of the eye:

  • Evaluation of your ocular health using Slit Lamp Biomicroscopy to evaluate the tissues at the microscopic level.
  • Optos Retinal Imaging: an impressive 200 degrees field of view of the human retina to valuation for retinal pathology including (diabetic retinopathy, blood disorders etc), retinal tears/thinning/detachments, floaters etc.
  • Usually done in lieu of dilation at an additional charge in most clinics. Please note, if a retinal medical condition is found on our imaging that needs a closer look, dilation must be done at the discretion of the doctor for proper assessment and management at no additional cost. This is important for our doctors to provide you with an accurate diagnosis and next steps.
  • *Eye Pressure Check (no air puff!) – including Glaucoma screening and other progressive diseases.
  • *An eyeglass prescription. Contact Lens Examination with prescription requires specialty assessment, and will be an additional fee.
  • *1-on-1 time with your eye doctor to review your exam results, answer any questions you may have & discuss your individualized eye care plans going forward.

Your first eye exam with us is crucial in establishing your ocular health status. The above non-invasive imaging performed at your exam establishes your baseline and provides valuable information of any existing conditions you may have and any at-risk ocular health conditions we must monitor at your annual eye exams to ensure the quality of care is consistent no matter which optometrist you see at our clinic. This comprehensive exam will be the most extensive in testing & longest (approximately 45 minutes). Please plan accordingly.   

*Note: Full Service = Self Pay / Fee for Service only. Self pay models give our doctors the flexibility to run as many clinically indicated & safe (but necessary) preliminary testing vision insurance and most medical insurances will not cover at the time of your visit – reducing your extra fees, unnecessary exam follow-ups and additional surprise out of pocket fees incurred by insurance companies. One full-service flat fee, no surprise insurance bills.
